Family
1. For God's plan and path that led us to where we are now. I was thinking about this while driving to visit my family today. I feel so blessed and thankful that God led the way for us to move closer to home. I love being able to visit my family and never being too far away from them.
2. For my dad, who made me homemade breakfast this morning when I made it to their house. It was very yummy!
3. For my grandma (dad's mom), granddad (mom's dad), and aunt for taking a break from their schedules to eat lunch with them. Especially since we gave them very little notice.

5. For my sister, who helps keep me grounded and makes me laugh.

4. For exercise and having the opportunity to do the exercising with other women. It's great not only to feel great but also to meet new people.
5. My mom who can talk to me for a long time for just about any reason and who is always willing to listen.

Lent
Tomorrow starts Lent. I figure I might as well write to tell you "what I am giving up" (i.e. doing differently). Not because of my pride, because I really don't think they are anything amazing. However along the journey of life, I have found that I do better at these things when I am held accountable.
Lent "Changes"-
1. I will get up earlier (my goal is 1 hr) and spend that time with God.
2. I will give up the distractions of my phone applications (that are not normal phone functions) during work times.
3. I will post everyday 5 things (people/events/etc) I am thankful for (see past posts). (As a reminder of God's endless blessings.)
I think these are all sacrifices, but all doable items that will help me to not only grow closer to God, but also allow me to focus more on my relationships. Growing closer to God is really what this "season" is about.
I will try to update on how I am doing with the Lent Changes.
So, what are you "giving up" for Lent? Why?

Updates and A Couple Prayer Requests
I haven't updated this in a week and a half. I wish I had good stories to fill you in with since I've been gone that long. Unfortunately or Fortunately (depending on how you look at it), there hasn't been much going on.
Like I said I signed up for this walk/run clinic and made it to 2 out of 5 meetings. Two were cancelled (or atleast I assume 2 were..) due to rain. The other one I missed due to other obligations. Hopefully, my attendance percentage goes up.
My parents, granddad and I met for lunch last Saturday while the Hubs had school. Who ever thought school on Saturdays was a smart move wasn't thinking clearly! (My opinion anyways!) We celebrated my parent's anniversary (which was this week) while we ate. We also bought some rose bushes which I planted last Sunday.
This week has been fairly mild and uneventful....atleast til Friday. Friday, we found out that the Hub's brother was taken to the ER and admitted due to a couple of seizures he had that day. The DRs aren't sure what is causing them, but they have put him on meds and told him he couldn't drive for a year. They also want to do further testing in a couple of weeks. Needless to say, he is in need of lots of prayers - not just for healing, but also for patience, obedience (to dr's order not to drive), comfort, as well as other unspoken things. This is definitely a difficult thing for the family.
Also, we found out sometime this week that my Granddad is having to have an eye biopsy next week. When I saw him at Valentine's day, he made a comment about his vision. Now, the DR's are afraid if they don't do this biopsy and treat him, there is a chance he will become blind. This scares me. He has been through alot this year. Our whole family has been. I just pray that he makes it through this and keeps his eyesight.
Anyways, despite not having many stories, we obviously have some prayer requests...Other than this, we are just enjoying life here in the mountains...
