5 months

Bella, it's hard to believe this, but You Are 5 Months Old!

In the past month:
~ you are still doing the same as far as sleeping. However, you have found a way on occasion to wiggle your way into bed with mom and dad.
~ you are still eating 6 oz bottles...and have even convinced the people at daycare that you want that much (most of the time!)..
~ you have tried a bite of guacamole (mostly avacado) but we really haven't started solids...you seem content with bottles for now.
~ you love to be held and are quite spoiled when it comes to that, but it's hard not to when you will sit in my lap forever content..
~ speaking of sitting, it is one of your favorite things whether in a bumpo or with the couch propping you up. You can sit on your own for a few seconds but then you typically flop over.
~ you also love to stand in people's laps an survey the entire room. Very rarely do you actually want to be cradled (unless you are tired..)..
~ you do well with tummy time and the dogs enjoy it, but you don't roll over much at home. I'm not sure your reasoning, but I'm confident you are stubborn because we hear how great you are at doing tummy time and rolling at school...it probably has to do with just batting your eyes and getting what you want at home...
~ your personality shows through more and more each day... You are so funny and enjoy smiling, laughing, and talking. I foresee lots of all three in our future!
~ you had your first ear infection which was an experience for all of us. It appears you also had an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin the doctors put you on. It only took you throwing up on me twice (another first), refusing to eat, diarrhea, and rash for us to figure that out (most of those happened in one day..)
~ we celebrated your Pop's birthday (my dad) with lots of love and play time!
~ we also celebrated that a year ago we found out about you and we're so excited! What a joy you are to us!
~you also experienced loss this month (though, I'm not sure how much you are aware) in that our sweet puppy Elle went to doggy heaven. Elle loved you and you seemed to enjoy Elle (and her kisses). We will all miss her greatly!

You keeping getting older! Time keeps flying by, but your dad and I try to spend as much time cherishing you.. We know this age won't last long and we want to remember as much of this age (and every age) that we can. You are growing so much and becoming even more cute - inside and out. You light up our world and make our lives so much better. You are such a happy baby and a joy to all of your family! As you grow and change, I hope you take time like this to reflect on the big things in your life. I also pray that we are able to document them so you can share the with your family in the future! I have enjoyed month 5 and can't wait to see what month 6 will bring! I only hope that it goes slowly enough for us to enjoy it and our time with you.
